Coffee, Dahling

A woman approaches me, her voice hesitant, her neck dripping with gold and pearls.
"Is there a Tim Hortons nearby?" she whispers.
I stare at my empty cup, newly exported from College Street. "I don't know," I whisper back, "I've never been here before."
She sighs and bites her lip. There are 1,436 Tim Hortons outlets in Ontario but not one on Avenue Road; the coffee of the masses is contraband here.
