According to a report by CTV (Nov. 1), Mark Warner, Conservative candidate for Toronto Centre, "does not want to belong to the club" that won't have him as a member.Recently Warner, who has been campaigning for 10 months in the economically diverse Toronto-Centre riding has had disagreements with his party on his presentation of local issues. The riding includes Regent Park and Rosedale.
Warner told CTV: "...In a riding that is 60 per cent immigrants, that has lots of public housing, and has two universities and a community college, I felt the need to also talk to the issues that my constituents were raising...education, immigration, housing, in addition to environment, health care and crime."He also said that he was trying to "strengthen the urban voice that has been regrettably absent from our current national government."
