Last week there was an article about LEED condos being built in Toronto in 24 hours (the commuter daily). It was the first article I've seen published about LEED condos in Toronto. It ran on page 20 of the March 29, 2007 issue under Condos: High Style Living and was titled "Environmentally friendly condos" (by Jack Kazmierski). I can't find it online (!).
I worked on my fourth draft this week - needing to "stretch it out." I contacted the sales person I initially interviewed at Tridel to ask if she could hook me up with a green condo buyer. She said she couldn't becasue of client confidentiality. Wow and interesting I thought. There are rules that govern the sales person/potential buyer sphere in the way rules govern the doctor/patient sphere. So I was unable to find/interview a green condo buyer. Nobody seems to know anybody shopping around for a green condo. I do know of people who have bought homes on golf courses. Seems to be the bigger thing now.
I read an interesting article in Maclean's magazine regarding Robyn's feature. It said that the cost of marketing the RED campaign was greater than the profits earned. They should have just donated that money to the cause, instead of wasting it on marketing.
My mom bought me a towel made half out of bamboo, half out of cotton.
I have been eating organic apples lately.
My grandfather had apple and pear orchards. He sprayed them with -icide (not sure whether herb or pesticide). Otherwise the crops would have been destroyed by this black thing that grew on trees.
