Sunday, March 11, 2007: A real urban flanêur

I set out Sunday with groovie intentions of capturing wonderful photos of west-end Toronto.
I wanted to create a nice photo essay (blog).
But it's really awful looking - Toronto thawing out after the cold is not a pretty sight.

I took the above photos of my sink, shower curtain and chair instead to illustrate the cool-blue feeling and the bubble-gum pink vibe west-end Toronto brings me ... when it's nice out.

These are views from a streetcar along Lakeshore Boulevard West: from Parklawn Road to Roncesvalles Avenue.

The building on the far right reminds me of the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai. I wish Toronto's waterfront was as sweeping. The Burj Al Arab is currently the world's only seven-star hotel. It's also the tallest hotel in the world: "That's been verified."

Humber Bay Bridge(s) - pedestrian walk way, Gardiner Expressway, train tracks and Queensway.

Construction along Lakeshore between South Kingsway and Windemere Avenue.

Grenadier Pond.

Lake Ontario.

View of west-end Toronto's lake front.

Before leaving the house my mother suggested I take photos and blog about Taekwondo.
She is very disappointed that I have not done that.

Me, waiting for the Royal York bus.

My French Football Federation knapsack with my Taekwondo uniform inside.

Ossington subway station.

The dome of the Ukrainian Church of the Holy Protection, built in 1964, at Leeds and Carling, just north of Bloor Street West and Ossington Avenue.

The corner of Bloor Street West and Ossington Avenue - where Taekwondo training centre Black Belt World is located.

Store front on Ossington Avenue.

Warehouse on Ossington Avenue.

Signage along The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) on Queen Street West.

I love this chair in the window: if you can make it out.
