A little piece of heaven

I'm not religious by any means, however this beautiful historic site caught my eye on a recent walk to find some unfamiliar territory. St. James Cathedral is known as the oldest congregational in the city. It is almost surreal to see such a beautiful piece of architecture smack dab in the middle of office towers and dilapidated buildings.

St. James Park is a magnificent site found just around the corner from the cathedral.

Flowers bloom even now, in late September. Business men and regular folk take a minute to enjoy lunch in the park or read a few chapters in the quiet found here. Below, a man stops to smell the roses - literally. A local oasis at King and Church. A way to get away from it all.
